Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, share and protect your personal information.

Effective 27 August 2026

1. About this policy

ClikAcademy is the learning platform within the Clik ecosystem. For the personal information described in this policy, ClikAcademy acts as the data controller and determines why and how that information is processed.

This policy applies when you visit our website, register or join a waitlist, request team training, make an enquiry, attend a course, use course resources or participate in a learning community.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact information, including your name, email address, telephone number, country and city.
  • Professional information, including your role, organisation, industry, experience, skills and portfolio links.
  • Course and training information, including cohort choices, learning goals, training requirements, attendance, assignments, assessments and feedback.
  • Transaction information, including the course selected, amount due, payment reference and payment-confirmation details. We do not store complete payment-card details when a payment provider processes a transaction.
  • Communications you send to us and messages relevant to course support.
  • Technical information ordinarily supplied by your browser or hosting service, such as IP address, device type, browser type, pages viewed and security logs.

3. Why we use your information

We process personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and training requests;
  • assess course suitability and manage registrations, cohorts and payments;
  • deliver live sessions, course packets, recordings, certificates and learner support;
  • administer WhatsApp learning communities and communicate course updates;
  • adapt team-training programmes and prepare proposals or reports;
  • maintain, secure and improve the website and learning experience;
  • keep appropriate financial, operational and compliance records; and
  • send promotional communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.

4. Lawful bases

We rely on one or more recognised lawful bases under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023: your consent; steps requested before entering a contract; performance of a contract with you or your organisation; compliance with legal obligations; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving ClikAcademy, where those interests do not override your rights.

5. Who receives your information

Authorised ClikAcademy and Clik personnel may access information where required for their work. We may also use trusted service providers for website hosting, form and email delivery, payment processing, analytics, live-session delivery, file storage and operational support.

If you join a WhatsApp learning community, your profile name, phone number and other information made visible through your WhatsApp settings may be seen by other group participants. WhatsApp processes information under its own privacy terms.

We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a properly managed business reorganisation. We do not sell your personal information.

6. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and the requirements of applicable data-protection law.

7. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including course delivery, support, financial reporting, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Retention periods vary according to the type of record and the relationship involved. Information that is no longer required is deleted, anonymised or securely archived where permitted.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, organisational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to be informed, request access, correct inaccurate information, object to or restrict processing, request deletion, obtain portable information, withdraw consent and request human review of certain automated decisions. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To exercise a privacy right, contact academy@clikconsulting.com. We may ask for information necessary to verify your identity and respond securely.

10. Cookies, analytics and website data

We use essential technologies needed for website operation, security and user preferences. We also use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and measure actions such as completed registrations, team-training requests, waitlist signups and payment-confirmation intent. Google may process device, browser, approximate location and interaction information under its own privacy terms.

We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers or form responses to Google Analytics. Where applicable law requires a choice before optional analytics technologies are used, we will provide that choice.

11. Children

ClikAcademy courses and services are intended for adults and professional teams unless a programme expressly states otherwise. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorisation.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, providers or legal obligations. The effective date at the top will show when the current version applies.

Questions or complaints about this policy may be sent to academy@clikconsulting.com.
